Where is that in the kit
Brother I’m going back to R22 days.
I call bullshit. Should have been nice to tell me you need additional adapters. What pump will they work on. Not happy with the joints also. 1,000 dollar investment and I’m lost
I am in a townhouse and the pipe goes straight down into the concrete slab. It has to be going into a drain pipe of some sort.
I like the UV tracer dye personally. It makes for a proof positive diagnosis. These short videos are a nice format! Straight to the point quicker
$215 an hour?? My god man 🤣 I’m an electrician and I wouldn’t even charge that much. You’re charging way too much for a job that takes a weekend to learn lol
Somehow my comment about calling bs on this being a regular customer’s house and you sitting down to play a client’s personal music gear… and the fact that I’d throw you out of my house like a bat 🦇 that flew down the chimney, for touching my gear while being paid a service call… got deleted. 🫵🏻
I wonder how the scammers would feel if they got scammed by someone in a profession, they know nothing about? It seems there are a lot of scammers in the HVAC industry doing crap like that company did. Other Channels have shown some of the dishonest things they have come across. Then what do they do, sell this one to somebody else because there was nothing wrong with it in the first place? "oh i have this used unit that i can sell you at a discount"
The builder swapped out the new unit destined for that house with the old one at his house. This would probably be in GEORGIA!
I started to comment on this lady then it clicked......yes.....helicopter!!!
It’s absolutely gross 🤮 The drain line must have not been cleaned for 100 years?! Good lord mercy 😢
That system went acidic. The compressor will be next.
How’s that ??
Take a picture of the wires
A Goodman replaced the outside unit that I had in 1994; the year that I bought my house. The inside unit, Singer, was original to the house when it was built in 1968. I personally replaced the furnace's gas control valve in 2020. The compressor on the outside unit finally conked out in early 2022. That's when I had both inside and outside units replaced. That Goodman/Singer combo were workhorses. I don't know the tonnage size of the unit, but it's a small house; 1,100 sq ft. Thank you for sharing your video and for having this channel.
How DARE that customer want to watch over the person she's paying her hard-earned money to? You might be a good tech. If so, you are rare. Typical HVAC techs are why MORE customers need to watch over techs like a hawk. If you do any amount of work in the industry whatsoever, you darn sure know why... and if you think a used capacitor isn't "that big of a deal", and that caustic coil cleaner is a good idea to use, then indeed YOU are the reason why customers should be more diligent.
The owner of the home really got a lot of years out of this Lennox I bet in fall that unit gets full of leafs great video and happy birthday Ted
I couldn't take it!
I like your work, i dont trick customers either. Thats being said not all of those guys are scammers, weve had them at our small company and a lot of those where misdiagnosis or just the youngers guys not knowing whats wrong and not wanting to call for help thinking there gonna get in trouble for it, or the lazy guy who just goes and does the bare minimum, and yes ive ran across the exact type were all talking about here from the big companies often where called for second opinions, and being honest im dissapointed in what this residential field is turning into nothing more than salesman and installers. I worked in factories working on coolers and ive worked in refrigeration ive worked on drives, plc's anything automated with sensors motors hydraulics and pneumatics. Those jobs where enjoyable to me because of the actual diagnosis solving that issue using your knowledege of fundamentals and deduction.
Don’t let the Smithsonian Institution see that unit! They’ll want it for sure! 😆
Ha ha!! You’re tired of winter in South Carolina? Come to Minnesota and experience winter. Tell me how fast you get tired of winter here! Won’t be long!🥶🥶🥶🥶
Solid, logical troubleshooting skills on display here. Well done, sir!
Wiring disaster😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
What’s the difference between a hard start cap and a soft start setup?
I installed my own ecobee 3 several years ago. Color coded real easy. Seperate connection plate that the head until plugged into. Just had to go downstairs and write down what each wire ran to. My house was built in 1979, and not the original owner so going into any wall is seriously dangerous.😂. Luckily my wire bundle wasn’t previously hacked. It’s worth paying the 75 bucks more to get the ecobee over that one anyhow.
Can someone recommend an honest HVAC guy in Tucson, AZ? Need one badly :(
How Dare Thee! My Goodman is 24 years old, an R22 unit. It has Never seen a service technician except for the homeowner. My condenser unit is in the shade. So my CAP has never failed due to any over heating issues, but after 20 years, I simple changed it out for a shiny new Amrad Capacitor, my Contactor was still working good too, but I changed it out also, I think I got my monies worth. I clean the coils every year with my Nu-Calgon foaming coil gun and wand. Keep the leaves and debris out of the center compressor area, even check the Schrader valves for leaks, don't want to lose any freon. I can afford the highest efficiency brands but, I'm going to stick with Goodman. I kind of like the fact that every repair guy running around out there, has the replacement parts right on their truck, and I don't have to wait for parts shipped. Thats an additional value right there. Not that I EVER needed any, but it's a comforting thought..Lol
GD - 17m 14sec - we see this trash every day! Trash Tech who installed is probably at HOOTERS right this minute.
They asking me questions does NOT bother me ONE BIT. I enjoy helping others...
This man is country as cornbread lol.
F.I.L has a mobile, contained unit Payne 50EE024 self-contained unit, 1982 I believe.Replaced the blower capacitor supposed to be 15ufd, testing at 3 ufd. Replaced the run cap 35/5, reading at 25/2 ufd.Replaced the smoked contactor. Sounds normal, runs beautiful.
I used to hate die now I only dislike it. I've had to use it twice.
It’s an easy way out for slow leaks.
I'd suggest quit your bitching and start troubleshooting.
Heat gun on sticker and it peels right off.
So many companies want to sell you a new AC or Water system Roof repair Auto repair. Some just have no real experience others are thief's. Always get another opinion even with any serious medical procedure i have many stories
What I’m saying is I don’t think technicians aren’t ready for the new refrigerant switch. I think it’s the manufacturer who aren’t ready WTF build better shit.
You never know, 2018 they may have had a new unit fail on them and put in an older used but proven unit. Mine from 2003 is a beast...
and that's how you fry your compressor stop putting those in units whoever's doing that quit it
If I were an HVAC tech, the first thing I'll do is check the cheaper issues first before going to the more expensive issues. For example a no cool call on a straight cool unit, first I'll check if the condenser fan and compressor kicks on. If not, I'll check the capacitor and replace if bad, and if good, I'll ohm out the compressor and if the compressor is shorted to ground, I'll either replace the condensing unit or the compressor depending on whichever is cheaper. If it does kick on, and the condenser is blowing cool air, I hook up my manifold gauges to see if it's low on charge if it's not low on charge check the TXV if is faulty, and if low on charge I'll bust out the leak sniffer and check the everywhere for leaks and inform the customer that there is a leak if I find one. The only time I'll suggest a new system is if there is a compressor failure on an R22 system, an evaporator or a condenser coil with an unrepairable leak on an R22 system, or it's an old system that keeps having problems to the point that it is cheaper for the homeowner to get a new system than to keep on repairing the old system.
You sir, seem to be a master of your trade. Very nice
I love the shorts!
Thanks a lot! I really appreciate you watching. Be sure to check out. Hvac shop talk. That is our friend Zack.
no filter change till you got there
I am locksmith. With any on-site skilled trade, you will get those people. I tend to tell them that I will do what get to work and that it will take a bit (even if it won't). I tell them I will come get them once I am finished. Usually works.
Sounds like you should remove all the charge every weigh it in and line length and start over
22:14 that sewer inlet though!
No way the hack didn’t know what he did. Second he tried to push nitrogen or pull a vacuum he knew. Then let flow anyway. Lawsuit time.
Holy Joe Brandon
I realize that this is an old video, but I wanted to comment. There could be two valid reasons for the customer "hovering": 1. She wants to learn. To most people, HVAC technology is a 'dark science' that is not easily understood. 2. There are many unscrupulous contractors out there who will say they did something (and charge for it) even if they did not perform the task. Keeping an eye on them seems to discourage such activity. Just my 2 cents...
her mouth moving the entire time.
I thought I saw a Dead Thing on the right side of that contactor. You need a MPX for your favorite toys; I think it would give you room for some pruning shears as well!
I know it's not a new video but maybe it was your Old Spice that drove the lady wild 🤣
